Jiutian Cave is located in Shuidong Village, Lifuta Township, 17 kilometers southwest of Sangzhi County, west of Zhangjiajie City and north of Wulingyuan. The cave is named because it has nine skylights that connect to the outside world. 2.5 kilometers south of the cave entrance, there is Fengluanxi Natural Forest Park, which combines natural scenery and rich ethnic customs; 2 kilometers southeast of the cave entrance, the Lishui River flows like a silver ribbon.
Jiutian Cave is 70 kilometers away from the city. Jiutian Cave has more than 100 scenic spots and landscapes, which are full of treasures and jades, and are mysterious and unpredictable. It is deep and has no weirs. It enjoys the titles of “the crown of the world’s strange caves” and “the largest cave in Asia”. The cave is divided into three layers: upper, middle and lower, and the lowest layer is more than 400 meters below the ground surface. There are 36 caves in the cave, which are intertwined, with more than 30 halls, more than 10 cave mountains, 6 square thousand hills, 5 self-generated bridges, 3 sections of Yin River, 3 natural lakes, 12 waterfalls, 3 wells and other scenes. The cave is densely covered with stone forests, stalactites are suspended, and various exquisite scenes cast by magma are graceful. The stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, stone flowers, stone people, stone beasts and other shapes in the cave are indescribable, and they are colorful and dazzling. Among them, the three wonders of Jiuxing Mountain Jade Pillar, Jiutian Xuannv Palace and Shouxing Palace are unparalleled.
