Yunnan is China's most ethnically diverse province, and this lakeside park is the one-visit preview — Dai, Bai, Yi and other communities in recreated architecture, dress and performance. Flat paths and frequent rest stops make it one of Kunming's most forgiving sights for three-generation groups.

Kunming Old Street

The last surviving quarter of old Kunming — timber shophouses, teahouses and the spillover of the flower-and-bird market, right in the modern center. It needs no plan: go in the late-afternoon light and let it drift into an easy evening walk toward Nanping Street.

Underground Kunming — rivers, gorges and cathedral-sized chambers in the same karst that built the Stone Forest above ground. It lies out in the same direction, so a group with a spare full day can pair the two; with elders or a tight schedule, we would rather you do one of them properly.
