The Southern Great Wall built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, most of it was run through in the territory of Fenghuang County. Perhaps because the military strength of the southern ethnic minorities was not as strong as the northern ethnic minorities, the Southern Great Wall was not built as magnificent as North. Although not as great as the northern Great Wall, the scale is far smaller than the North Great Wall, but it is no less unique with its southern scenery and characteristics of Xiangxi ethnic customs.
